Behind the Design: The BOW Bag
The BOW Bag is the perfect Spring/Summer bag, looking effortlessly elegant as it holds a flourishing bouquet in our best-selling Oat colour.
As the LOOSENDS family continues to grow, and we add 2 new designs to our catalog, I thought I’d take the time to share the story of how these products came to be, so read on as we go behind the design.
I like to refer to The BOW Bag as “the happy accident.” After such success from the DUSK & TRIANGLE, I spent months wracking my brain to find what would become my next design.
“How can I top them? What do people want? How can I get the wow-factor? How can I surpass everyone’s expectations?”
These were all questions that raced through my mind as I sat down to brainstorm. But to no surprise, this didn’t work.
You see, I became so fixated on what people expected from me, I forgot how I got to where I am to begin with.
When I designed my other products, I always started with three guiding principles:
It needs to be functional
It has to be sustainably made
It needs to be something I’d buy myself
Flash forward to the beginning of February. I wanted to make a bag for Valentine’s day, so I told myself to just try something for the fun of it!
I ended up making this video and you guys loved it!
Finally, after a few small revisions & tweaks, The BOW Bag was born!
