LOOSENDS all started back in 2022, in the small Vancouver bedroom of founder Bennett. While pursuing an education in dance, Bennett found himself eager to take on a new side hustle to stay busy outside of school. For him, it was simply a way to pursue his love of crochet and explore his curiosities around sustainability and fashion.

In August of 2024, the business relocated to Montréal where things really started to take off. In addition to selling crochet bags, we began releasing designs as digital patterns for fellow crocheters to follow along and make their own. As Bennett continued to build the brand and share it online, LOOSENDS gained more and more momentum, resulting in recognition all over the world.

Viewers everywhere began asking "Where can I find this yarn?" so naturally, in June of 2025, we launched LOOSENDS Yarn, a sustainable yarn brand specializing in t-shirt yarn made from reclaimed textile waste. This extension of the brand only felt kismet, as it perfectly embodied the values that LOOSENDS was built on.

Our mission is and always has been simple: make the fibre arts more sustainable and more accessible. LOOSENDS is our commitment to providing consciously-made slow fashion statement pieces and raw materials to as many people as possible, and sharing the love of crochet worldwide.
